The Guild Question

When the matter of Guilds came up , we of the then NANTAP executive were of the opinion that members should be allowed to form guilds as they feel the need, but that they should continue to acknowledge NANTAP as the central body that they would turn to whenever the interests of two or more guilds overlap as indeed we knew they would.

We refused to initiate the guilds and remained worried for quite some time as hardly anybody in the house seemed eager to initiate them inspite of our entreaties.

When the guilds did come, the empire owning spirit took over and everyone seemed to seek total independence. Now there is such a myriad of Guilds out there and no acknowledged centre. Each time I think about it I cannot but wonder where NANTAP got the Guild Question wrong.
